Take a sun hat and suntan lotion as well as water proofs

Hot or cold take plenty of water

Light clothes and sweaters or other warm tops – you might get hot walking, but it could get cold at night

Take care of your feet: wear good walking shoes or boots and take plenty of sticking plasters and blister plasters.

First aid: As well as the usual things you may need something for insect bites. Do you have medicine that you must take regularly?

Overnight: If you are staying at an overnight stop you will need a sleeping bag and sleeping mat. It’s a good idea to have a torch. You will need some things for personal hygiene.

You will have to carry all your gear so make sure you have a good rucksack but make you luggage as light as possible.

On some stages of the route there will not be food available. You may need to take sandwiches or find a shop or restaurant
